Design Icon – Project

Oscar Lopez and Mihir Bavishi were students at ASU’s Architecture school who became friends. After graduating they both started careers with time at design centric firms. Oscar at Studio Rick Joy and Mihir at Studio Ma. They started their own firm Space Bureau in 2017 with work in Phoenix and Tucson. As young entrepreneurs, they have cultivated a following of like minded friends and clients. Working with young creatives to create spaces for them and their business that reflect youthful values and meaningful design. They met and connected with Scott Gerard, another aspiring entrepreneur. Scott was focused on Neapolitan style pizza from his youth and travels. Training with Chris Bianco and eventually leading the Tucson Pizzeria Bianco, he was ready to create his own place. Scott’s drive to create an authentic dining experience led him to a small vintage space in the historic warehouse neighborhood. The design program was to focus on the cooking and eating experience, creating a place for community and humanity. From that program, Anello was born.
