Design Icon – Interiors
Meet Icon: Mackenzie Collier
Mackenzie Collier was born in Michigan, but it was her education at the Herrington College of Design in Chicago, that introduced her to the possibilities of design. Inspired by her studies and the architecture of Chicago, she developed a philosophy about community and design. When she moved to the desert during a recession, she started her own namesake firm with a simple remodel. As her talents grew, so did her business by referrals, causing her firm to grow. With a passionate commitment to diversity, she has sought out a team who collaborates on design and represents a diverse sense of opinions through experiences. Her firm now focuses on retail, restaurants, and commercial renovation. Working to reinvent old spaces into new functions. Looking to preserve the authentic feeling of the structures, they craft interiors that are both modern and respectful. They work to connect community and create spaces that benefit the humanity of life. Aligning the teams’ values with the type of work they produce has allowed the firm to create authentic public spaces.
